Let's Impeach the President for Lyin'

It's never too late!

Now that the senate committee investigating the reasons given by Bush and Cheney for America to go to war has concluded that they lied, America is sleeping through it, distracted by high gas and oil prices and campaign politics like whether or not the "next guy" will be any good...

It seems easy for some to forget the war now, but as it continues taking lives everyday, let's remember how it started. For history's sake IMPEACH BUSH and set the record straight on what a president can and cannot do so that other presidents in the future will have a legal example to look to.

ACT NOW.

Sen. Barack Obama's Grandmother Dies on Eve of Election

Photobucket

This is extremly tragic news, Sen. Barack Obama's Grandmother, Madelyn Dunham has passed away at age 86 on the eve of the Presidential Election.

Sen. Obama released a statement today it said "She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility,"

"She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure."

Obama and his sister asked that donations be made for the search for a cure for cancer in lieu of flowers. A small private ceremony will be held "at a later date."

Their family will be in our thoughts and prayers, Stay strong Barack.

A Worthwhile Cause - Please Read!

Dear Readers,

My Grandmother (Jeanette Meents) lost her battle with breast cancer in 1986 before I had the honor of meeting her, So in honor of her, I have recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to save a life by joining the Because I Care(TM) fundraising program for the Susan G. Komen Arkansas Race for the Cure®. I want to help in the fight against breast cancer. I am also walking in the Susan G. Komen Arkansas Race for the Cure® on Saturday, October, 11th in memory of her.

One in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime. In Arkansas, a mammogram costs an estimated $150. By helping me raise that amount you can help me save a life. The more we raise, the more the Arkansas Affiliate can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

Click Here to view my personal page and make a donation to save a life.

Please join me in my effort to save a life. Your generous tax-deductible contribution will fund innovative outreach and awareness programs for medically under served communities in Arkansas and national breast cancer research. It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make a donation online by simply clicking on the link provided in this message. Whatever you can give will help! I truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you so much for your time and support in the fight against breast cancer! This one's for the Girls!!!

Sincerely,

Zakary Meents

Vice Presidential Debate

Photobucket

I think calling last nights vice presidential debate a bloodbath or completely one-sided would be without a doubt an understatement.

Sarah Palin refused to answer ANY question that moderator Gwen Ifill asked her during the debate. Instead she gave a half ass comment on some other issue she picked, seemingly, out of the air. She tried to keep most of those comments about Energy or Alaska, Her obvious safety zones. Although she has never given her ideas on how to fix the energy crisis, and she also still thinks humans had absolutely nothing at all to do with the global warming crisis. I suppose we could just blame it on the Iraqi people, Osama Bin Laden, or some Sovereign nation with a lot of what we want...Money!

Both Senator [Joe] Biden and Gov. Palin tried to play the "I'm an average Joe" card throughout the evening. Joe Biden talked about how he was a "Scrappy kid from Scranton" and Sarah Palin obnoxiously "winked" at the cameras [see above picture] and said things like "Darn Right" and "Heck Yeah" before and after almost every sentence. Gov. Palin also referred to every day Americans as "Joe Six Pack" and of course the ever annoying "Hockey Mom" phrase was used a few too many times as well.

Both Senator Biden and Gov. Palin agreed on one thing that neither party with allow gay marriages because it is not sanctioned by the bible. I would like to add that pre-marital sex is also not sanctioned by the church yet we all know that Sarah Palin's 17 year old daughter is unwed and pregnant.

The Republicans also have a new game they like to play. It goes something like, If the Democrats mention anything at all about the atrocity that is the Bush Administration they say something like "How can you promote change if you keep looking at things in the past". It's almost laughable that they do this. They are obviously scared that people might figure out that if they vote in John McCain it will be without a doubt Four More Years of George W. Bush! Which I can understand why they are scared, nearly all of John McCain's issues are the exact same as George W. Bush's!

All in all Senator Joe Biden won the debate. He answered every question and responded to every lie that Gov. Palin tried to lay on the American people. Even McCain supporting Republicans said this morning things like "You know how when you get a new job you are watched very closely for any mistakes? Well, I think that Sarah Palin would have been fired within the first 5 minutes of the debate." She completely embarrassed herself and the Republican ticket last night.

Barack Obama's Blueprint For Change

CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE BLUEPRINT FOR CHANGE

Signs of Hope and Change

We are being Robbed...

Photobucket

I got an email from Michael Moore this morning with some startling information in it. So I did some research and thought you all should know what I now know.

Let me cut to the chase. The biggest robbery in the history of this country is taking place as you read this. Though no guns are being used, 300 million hostages are being taken. Make no mistake about it: After stealing a half trillion dollars to line the pockets of their war-profiteering backers for the past five years, after lining the pockets of their fellow oilmen to the tune of over a hundred billion dollars in just the last two years, Bush and his cronies -- who must soon vacate the White House -- are looting the U.S. Treasury of every dollar they can grab. They are swiping as much of the silverware as they can on their way out the door.

No matter what they say, no matter how many scare words they use, they are up to their old tricks of creating fear and confusion in order to make and keep themselves and the upper one percent filthy rich.

For example, Before the "War on Terror" began the Bush-Cheney Administration tried (and succeeded) to scare the American citizens into an unnecessary "War of Profits". The (Republican) Government will try and take down anything they can that tries to tell the truth about their untruths and they call it "Propaganda", They might even call my simple little blog "Propaganda" But, They are wrong. Real propaganda was when they and the mainstream media blasted through our televisions everyday and every night the words that scare everyone...Weapons of Mass Destruction! Saddam had something to do with 9-11! They will attack us tomorrow if we don't attack them first!

All of that happened and now we are over a half-trillion dollars deep into this "war". And guess what? They are at it again, Propagandizing us into another mistake for us citizens but a very profitable outcome (or income however you want to look at it) for the administration and friends.

Today they screech through the t.v. screens things like, The end is near! Panic! Recession! The Great Depression! Y2K! Bird flu! Killer bees! We must pass the bailout bill today!

NOTHING in this "bailout" package will lower the price of the gas you have to put in your car to get to work. NOTHING in this bill will protect you from losing your home. NOTHING in this bill will give you health insurance.

You may say what does Heath Insurance have to do with the Wall Street collapse?

It has everything to do with it. This so-called "collapse" was triggered by the massive defaulting and foreclosures going on with people's home mortgages. Do you know why so many Americans are losing their homes? To hear the Republicans describe it, it's because too many working class idiots were given mortgages that they really couldn't afford. Here's the truth: The number one cause of people declaring bankruptcy is because of medical bills. Let me state this simply: If we had had universal health coverage, this mortgage "crisis" may never have happened. Hmmm...Think about it.

This bailout's mission is to protect the obscene amount of wealth that has been accumulated in the last eight years. It's to protect the top shareholders who own and control corporate America. It's to make sure their yachts and mansions and "way of life" go uninterrupted while the rest of America suffers and struggles to pay the bills. Let the rich suffer for once. Let them pay for the bailout. We are spending 400 million dollars a day on the war in Iraq. Let them end the war immediately and save us all another half-trillion dollars!

They are hoping Congress will act fast before they stop to think, before we have a chance to stop them ourselves. So stop reading this and do something -- NOW! Here's what you can do immediately:

1. Call or e-mail Senator Obama. Tell him he does not need to be sitting there trying to help prop up Bush and Cheney and the mess they've made. Tell him we know he has the smarts to slow this thing down and figure out what's the best route to take. Tell him the rich have to pay for whatever help is offered. Use the leverage we have now to insist on a moratorium on home foreclosures, to insist on a move to universal health coverage, and tell him that we the people need to be in charge of the economic decisions that affect our lives, not the barons of Wall Street.

2. Take to the streets. Participate in one of the hundreds of quickly-called demonstrations that are taking place all over the country (especially those near Wall Street and DC).

3. Call your Representative in Congress and your Senators. (click here to find their phone numbers). Tell them what you told Senator Obama.

The reason so many Democrats are behind this is because Wall Street this weekend put a gun to their heads and said either turn over the $700 billion or the first thing we'll start blowing up are the pension funds and 401(k)s of your middle class constituents. The Democrats are scared they may make good on their threat. But this is not the time to back down or act like the typical Democrat we have witnessed for the last eight years. The Democrats handed a stolen election over to Bush. The Democrats gave Bush the votes he needed to invade a sovereign country. Once they took over Congress in 2007, they refused to pull the plug on the war. And now they have been cowered into being accomplices in the crime of the century.

You must Call them Now and tell them "NO!" If we let them do this, just imagine how hard it will be to get anything good done when President Obama is in the White House. THESE DEMOCRATS ARE ONLY AS STRONG AS THE BACKBONE WE GIVE THEM. CALL CONGRESS NOW.

Do what you must to take back what is yours!

Thanks for reading. NOW -- MAKE THOSE PHONE CALLS!

Introducing...

...The "Real" Sarah Palin!

If you know anything about anything it's not hard to tell that this poor lady has bit off more than she can chew. She is from a small-town in Alaska called Wasilla, which is basically a tiny town of strip malls and gun shops along the state highway. Palin likes to play up her small-town roots (and have others play it up for her), For example, At the Republican National Convention during Fred Thompson speech he said "She's from a small-town with small-town values.". I suppose that would be a good thing if Wasilla and the surrounding valleys weren't recently named the meth capital of Alaska, with 42 meth labs busted in a single year.

She (and a few other Republicans) have been caught lying over and over, I would like to point out some of those lies and tell you the facts.

I will start with one straight from the mouth of Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain, Trying to "highlight" Palin's national-security credentials, He says, "She's been to Kuwait. She's been over there. She has been with her troops." When in fact she never even had a passport before 2007, when she made a brief photo-op trip to Germany . She has never been to Iraq and has never met with a single foreign head of state.

John McCain was also quoted while introducing Palin as saying "I found someone who stopped government from wasting taxpayers' money." while in fact that "someones" signature accomplishment as mayor was building a $15 million hockey arena that plunged the city into debt. Broke ground on the project without finalizing the city's purchase of the land; the resulting fiasco cost Wasilla $1.5 million - roughly $200 per resident. Also as Governor, She sought travel reimbursement for 312 nights she spent in her own home! In that same introduction McCain said "She's fought oil companies." When really, She collected $13,000 in campaign contributions from oil and gas lobbyists, including Exxon, BP, Shell, and Chevron. BP was also a sponsor of her inaugural ball.

I hope you all don't think this person is qualified to run the country (if something should happen to fathertime)just because she had control over a town smaller than the bleacher section at Fenway Park. She is so WRONG for this job. Even pop magazines have said "Sarah Palin is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the modern United States. She's a new low in reptilian villainy, the ultimate cynical masterwork of puppeteers like Karl Rove. But more than that, she is a horrifying symbol of how little we ask for in return for our political power. Not only is Sarah Palin a fraud, she's the tawdreist, most half-assed fraud imaginable, 20 floors below the lowest common denominator, a character too dumb even for daytime TV."

I would like nothing more than to continue talking about this cross-eyed, rifle-toting, serial pregnant, obviously doomed-to-fail joke of a Bible-thumping Moose killer, who thinks God lobbies for oil pipelines. But, It's getting late. I will continue this soon.

Thanks for reading.

Early Warning Signs of a Bad McCain-Palin Administration

Alaska Governor and Republican Vice-President Nominee Sarah Palin expenses are under scrutiny.

Gov. Palin billed taxpayer for 312 nights spent in her own home during her first 19 months in office, charging a "per diem" allowance intended to cover expenses while traveling on state business.

I can telling you one thing, If you want another 4 years of George W. Bush vote for McCain-Palin But, If you want (Positive) CHANGE, Vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden this November!

18 people are dead and over 35 injured in a small town outside of Cairo, Egypt, When at least 8 (some the size of a small house) fell from the Muqattam cliffs and buried about 50 homes in Manshiyet Nasr.

Officials fear there could be up to 500 people buried under the hundreds of tons of rock that fell on the small town.

Sarah Palin Fundraised $8 Million for Obama/Biden Campaign

The factually innaccurate and exaggerated speech Sarah Palin gave bashing Barack Obama and Joe Biden at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday inspired 130,000 people to donate money to the Obama/Biden campaign.

To the tune of $8 million in 24 hours!

McCain/Palin Campaign No Longer Have (A) "Heart"

Rocker ladies Heart have taken legal action against the GOP ticket.

Lawyers for Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson have issued cease-and-desist letters to the McCain/Palin campaign, demanding that their 1977 hit Barracuda not be used as Palin's theme song. Palin's nickname amongst friends and family is "Barracuda Sarah", I don't think I want someone with that nickname in taking over office if something were to happen to Father Time (Aka - John McCain).

Barracuda was used on Thursday night both to introduce Palin and on the heels of McCain's acceptance speech, at the close of the Republican National Convention.

Musicians of the world must not like McCain/Palin, last week Van Halen spoke out against the McCain campaign for using one of their tunes.

Barack Obama Has Choosen His Vice President

I recieve emails from the Obama Campain daily, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. Most of them I read just to stay up-to-date with his campain But, none of them really interest me all that much. Today was different, I recieved a very important message from Barack:

Subject: The Next Vice President

Zak --

I have some important news that I want to make official.

I've chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate.

Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois -- the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago.

I'm excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe.

Thanks for you support,

Exxon Mobil's New Record

Exxon Mobil has broken its own profit record, Banking $11.7 Billion during the 2nd Quarter - The most profitable quarter for any business history. This means Exxon Mobil made about $90,000 per minute. Despite the record, Exxon Mobil's profit fell short of Wall Streets estimates, and the companies stock fell about 2%.

Analysts say Exxon Mobil spent just 1% of its $41 Billion in profits last year on Alternative Energy Sources.

Everyone needs to realize that this will never change if we all don't do something about this, Think of others ways to do things. We are going to have to change, There is no way around that. Why not now? Before the funnel anymore of our money into their accounts.

The Administration's Secret Meeting

Investigative journalist, Seymour Hersh has revealed the bush administration recently held a meeting in Vice President Cheney office to discuss ways of provoking a war with Iran. Hersh said It was discussed during the meeting to stage an incident where it would appear that Iranian boats had attack U.S. forces in the Strait of Harmoose.

In a recent Press Conference Hersh said that there were many different ideas mentioned in the meeting. He says, "The one that interested me the most was, Why don't we build - We! In our shipyards - 4 or 5 Iranian boats that look exactly like Iranian PT boat, Put Navy Seals on them (with a lot of arms) and next time one of our boats goes through the Strait of Harmoose start a shoot-up." He also mentions that it was also said that "Sure, It will cost some lives but..."

Just so everyone knows, if anything like this was to happen - It wasn't an accident!

...And remember that we can still impeach the President and Vice President. What are we waiting for?

The Reece Fleming Story

This is so sad, yet touching.

Reece Fleming was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2004 when he was just 4 years old.

He battled the disease for years until this May, when doctors gave the 8 year old boy only a few weeks to live.

The family decided to try and help him achieve most of his goals before he would pass. And one of those was to marry his school sweetheart, Elleanor Purgslove.

Reece's mother said "When we found out that we only had a few weeks with him we tried to do absolutely everything with him that we could. Him and Ellie had been 'special friends' for a couple of years but then they broke up. We said we'd have a pirate party, and Ellie came. She went to visit Reece a few times in hospital as well."

Then during a recent laser tag party, Reece "proposed" to his little friend.

After she accepted, their parents arranged a pretend wedding at Reece's home.

The families went out to dinner in the mayor's limousine and organized the wedding with rings and even a fictional certificate.

The kids got married on July 4th. And Reece told his mom, "I can go now," after his wedding wish had been fulfilled.

His mom added, "He was so proud of her, and we were proud of them both."

The following day after the wedding, Reece died at home with his family.

During the funeral, the mourners followed a horse-draw hearse on foot.

His mom added, "Even on the Saturday that he died, he got out of bed and walked to the sofa. He always tried walking, right to the end, so we thought if he walked for us then we would walk for him."

What an amazing little boy.

Bosnian Serb Under Arrest in War Crimes

Radovan Karadzic, one of the world’s most wanted war criminals for his part in the massacre of nearly 8,000 Muslim men and boys, was arrested Monday, ending a 13-year hunt.

Hmmm...Is this what it is going to be like with Osama Bin Laden? Eventually we just forget about him? Or perhaps we already have...? I thought with all the work we are putting into this "hunt" we would have found him by now. Faster than you can say "Black Gold, Texas Tea!"

Synopsis: Two strangers, Patti Quigley and Susan Retik, formed a common bond in their grief when both lost their husbands on Sept. 11, 2001. This documentary chronicles what they did with that unimaginable loss, traveling to Afghanistan to meet women there also widowed by violence. Director Beth Murphy follows Quigley and Retik as they discover that although they are worlds apart, they share a kinship with their Middle Eastern counterparts.

Sudanese President is Charged with Genocide

We are one step closer step closer to Saving the people Darfur!

International Court accuses Sudan President Omar al-Bashir of trying to wipe out Darfur tribes.

Filing charges Monday against Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court said the Sudanese leader had developed a new way of perpetrating humanity's ultimate crime. "Al-Bashir is executing this genocide without gas chambers, without bullets, without machetes," prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo told reporters at The Hague-based court. "The desert will do it for him. It is a genocide by attrition."

Moreno-Ocampo filed 10 charges against al-Bashir related to a campaign of extermination the U.N. says has claimed 300,000 lives and driven 2.5 million people from their homes. Those who survive are preyed upon by the government-backed janjaweed Arab militia and regular troops, Moreno-Ocampo said.

A three-judge panel is expected to take two to three months to decide whether to issue an arrest warrant against President Omar al-Bashir.

I will be forming a petition to have an arrest warrant against al-Bashir soon.

We are so close!!! Let's not give up now. This is such good news.

Obama - "I've Seen Worse"

Obama

I'm sure all of you have seen this doodle. There are a lot of things that come to mind when I look at it. I will be honest, At first I laughed. But, there are so many things wrong with this photo. There are a lot of cowards who are petrified of having an (half) African American President (Not to mention he has all his hair and it isn't gray!). The world seems to have turned into such a negative place. People will do anything for attention. This photo is extremely racist and false.

All I can say is Don't believe everything you see or read. It is a cartoon, Do you ever take cartoons seriously? Thought not.

That is ridiculous! They could have spent that money on something better (Starving Children, Homeless, Disaster Victims, Darfur, Etc.) But instead they spend it on an ugly little car...

They make (really good) movies for under just $1 Million.

But wait, Giselle (Bundchen) HAD to get paid $2.5 million and Silvester Stallone, $1 million.

Sad.

Dirt-Bag

As you all know, I post photos of the people I am writing about. Well I don't think this guy deserves his face in anything but a mugshot.

Last year 17 year old, Nick Hogan (Son of Ex-Pro Wrestler Hulk Hogan) thought it would be a good idea to drink and drive and got into a horrific car crash. Leaving his 'best friend' in critical condition and him with a bruise or two.

He is currently trying to get out of serving 8 months in jail. He should be in far a very very long time. What he did was reckless and irresponsible, He deserves much more than what they gave him. But, He continues to complain.

CLICK HERE to view a video of the way his 'best friend' now lives.

- 6 hours a day in the Inmate Property Division, Monday-Friday
- 3 hours a week in video visitation
- Unlimited attorney visits
- 1 hour of recreation per day

Here is a transcript from a conversation Nick had with his Mother, Linda. As expected she babies him and makes it seem like the courts decision was completely asinine. Like I said he should be in jail for a very long time. He got of so lucky, His friend can't walk or talk because of him and he is whining about 8 months!

Nick Bollea: "Had I known this, I would have rather gone to trial or I would rather, you know, appeal the case or something. I can't deal with this for eight months. It's like the size of my bathroom."

Linda Bollea: "Oh!"

Nick: "No windows or nothing. Just one little top bed thing."

Linda: "Oh my God!"

Nick: "All you do is sit there and think, and there's nothing to think about."

Linda: "We'll get through it."

Nick: "Yeah."

Linda: "Prove to everyone you've learned your lesson and be more careful."

Barack HUSSEIN Obama

This is a 2 part post - Please read both parts - Thanks & Enjoy

Part 1 - Barack Hussein Obama

The fact that people mention Democratic Nominee Barack Obama's middle name "Hussein" in a negative way or try and persuade the uneducated voters by "scaring" them with it (I'm assuming that it is in reference to Former Iraq Ruler President Saddam Hussein) absolutely disgusts me, Let's be honest and THINK about it for a second instead of jumping to conclusions just so you have something "interesting" to talk about over dinner. Just because you share the same name as someone doesn't mean you are going to be like that person, anybody with a brain should know that. I have a good friend named Timothy - Uh Oh! That's the same first name as Timothy McVay that must mean he is going to blow up a building! Or my friend Charlie - He is going to start a cult and have people killed by his followers because he has the same first name as Charlie Manson. Yeah, Sounds like an absolute joke - Just like the people who mention Democratic Nominee Barack Obama's middle name.

Please try and get your information from a creditable resource and not simply from "chain emails".

Part 2 - Separate Church from State

I realize that talking about religion is like talking about Martin Luther King Jr. at a Clan rally. You will inevitably offend somebody. But, I have things that I believe people need to hear.

My views on the whole deal are simple, I 100% think everyone needs to believe in something but, Instead of believing in some golden finger from the sky, I choose to believe in myself - which I think is far more believable, I can see myself and let's be honest when you can see something that kind of helps with its credibility a little bit, Don't you think? Then people ask "What? Do you believe in the 'Big Bang Theory'?" My answer is - Number One, The "Big Bang" has been scientifically proven plausible, But I choose to just think that I'm here and I want to live my life how I choose, Not having to live up to the standards of someone/thing that is considered "Perfect". I will post my personal email address at the bottom of the post for all the hate mail, But wait! If you believe in God you can't Hate or Judge, So don't judge my views or send me hate mail or God has a place for you where you will burn, suffer, and not be able to die! But...He loves you.

The second part of this post is called "Separate Church from State" because 99% of the wars or global conflict has been started because of religion. And like I said you never know who you will offend.

Clinton to back Obama on Saturday

Photobucket

Hillary Clinton will suspend her presidential run (Finally!) this week, her campaign said. She will host an event Saturday to thank backers and "express her support for Sen. [Barack] Obama."

OBAMA-CLINTON = American Dream!

A Message from our Nominee

I'm about to take the stage in St. Paul and announce that we have won the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.

It's been a long journey, and we should all pause to thank Hillary Clinton, who made history in this campaign. Our party and our country are better off because of her.

I want to make sure you understand what's ahead of us. Earlier tonight, John McCain outlined a vision of America that's very different from ours -- a vision that continues the disastrous policies of George W. Bush.

But this is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past and bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for the country we love.

It's going to take hard work, but thanks to you and millions of other donors and volunteers, no one has ever been more prepared for such a challenge.

Thank you for everything you've done to get us here. Let's keep making history.

Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project

The goal of this outreach project is to create a safer, healthier and better life for impoverished children and their families in South Africa, especially those suffering from HIV/AIDS. The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project was created by Charlize Theron, in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF).

As its first mission, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project is working in collaboration with Oprah's Angel Network to provide lead funding to create a mobile health and computer unit designed to improve the health and social development of youth in Umkhanyakude District in South Africa.

The mobile health clinic was officially launched on November 8, 2007 at a school assembly attended by local dignitaries, representatives from Oprah's Angel Network and Ms. Theron.

Approximately 3,000 students at four high schools now receive at least one scheduled visit per year with a nurse, attend a one-hour session with an HIV counselor, complete a minimum of 4 90-minute computer training sessions, and go through 4 ninety-minute workshops on health education, with a special focus on preventing HIV. The unit visits each school — Nkosana, Silethukukhanya, Madwaleni and Nhliziyo — for one week each month.

There Is No Excuse For This!

Two teens, 18-year-old Melvin Blevins and 16-year old Angel Dailey have been charged with corrupting/endangering a child in Pataskala, Ohio, after police say they forced a toddler (age 2!!!) to smoke pot and videotaped the whole thing.

Authorities learned of the tape after a Columbus, Ohio, pawn shop dealer found it in a camcorder.

Police received the video of the toddler on Monday.

According to the report, the toddler inhales and then chokes on the pot in the video. After that, the video shows 'a man' who we assume to be Blevins, mimicking the toddler's coughing.

These are the kind of people who need to be taken off the streets for good!

Lights Out - Earth Hour!

You will notice this week that I "turned the lights out" on ZakMeents.com as a gesture to raise awareness of a worldwide energy conservation effort called Earth Hour.

The reason I do not do this permanently - it saves no energy; modern displays use the same amount of power regardless of what they display. However, you can do something to reduce the energy consumption of your home PC by joining the Climate Savers Computing Initiative.

On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Earth Hour invites people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone. On this day, cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Chicago, Melbourne, Dubai, and Tel Aviv, will hold events to acknowledge their commitment to energy conservation.

We've turned ours out, Time for you to do the same!

Harry Potter - 7 novels & 8 films!

It's official! The last Harry Potter book, Deathly Hallows, will hit the big screen as TWO movies!

The Harry Potter 'People' say , ''There's too much material to cover in one movie. It makes more sense to split it into two.''

Alan Horn, president of Warner Bros. (the studio in charge of all Harry Potter films), said that "it would have been a disservice" to downsize Deathly Hallows into one film.

So in all Harry Potter was the center of seven novels, but he'll star in eight films!

The films are scheduled to be released in November 2010 and May 2011.

United States Attacks Somalia

Photobucket

The United States attacked a "known terrorist target" with precision missiles in southern Somalia on Monday, a U.S. military official said.

As expected there is no confirmation that the attack killed any of the "terrorist" but, there is confirmation that the strike destroyed two houses -- killing three women and three children, and wounding another 20 people.

It seems that the "precision missiles" aren't very precise - Can we get a refund? Honestly, I'm sure the millions of dollars spent on these missiles (and mission) could have been spent to help better our own country...

U.S. Defense Analyst Charged with Espionage

Photobucket

Gregg William Bergersen, 51, a United States Defense Department Analyst was accused of passing American military secrets to the Chinese government.

Bergersen is a weapons systems policy analyst at the Defense Department's Defense Security Cooperation Agency in Arlington, Virginia. He is charged with conspiracy to disclose national defense information illegally to unauthorized individuals.

He was arrested and charged with espionage earlier today.

In an unrelated espionage case, federal authorities in California arrested a former Boeing Co. engineer and charged him with working as an unregistered agent and stealing trade secrets for the Chinese government.

Kenneth Wainstein, assistant attorney general for national security said earlier, "These two cases plainly represent the magnitude of the threat we face, It's a threat to our national security and to our economic position in the world," he added, "a threat that is posed by the relentless efforts by foreign intelligence services to penetrate our security systems."

The question is, Why does China want to know our defense secrets?

I will be posting more as the story develops.

U.S. Seeks Death for 9/11 Suspects

The United States Government will seek the death penalty against six Guantanamo Bay detainees who are suspects in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, an Air Force general said Monday.

What happened on September 11, 2001, was a terrible thing and the Convicted killers should pay that price 10 times over, but, Nobody should be put up for Death who has not had a fair trial.

The Fifth Amendment of the Constitution says that "No Person, Shall be deprived of Life, Liberty, or Property without due process of law."

International Law states that, "Anyone who is deprived of his/her liberty by arrest or detention shall be entitled to take proceeding before a court, in order that the court may decide without delay on the lawfulness of his/her detention and order his/her release if the detention is not lawful".

Top al Qaeda Terrorist Killed

A senior al Qaeda terrorist active in operational planning and training has been killed in Pakistan, a knowledgeable Western official and an unnamed military source said Thursday.

The official identified the terrorist as Abu Laith al-Libi, 41

The U.S. Government placed al-Libi on its most wanted list in 2006, behind bin Laden, al-Zawahiri and Taliban leader Mullah Omar

The official said al-Libi is "not far below the importance of the top two al Qaeda leaders" -- Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri.

al-Libi is of Libyan descent and has been in the Afghanistan/Pakistan border region

Poor Haitians Resort to Eating Dirt

Photobucket

For decades, Haiti has been plagued with poverty, corruption, decaying infrastructure, dictatorships, military coups de etat and foreign military intervention.

It was lunchtime in one of Haiti's worst slums, and Charlene Dumas was eating mud. With food prices rising, Haiti's poorest can't afford even a daily plate of rice, and some take desperate measures to fill their bellies. Charlene, 16 with a 1-month-old son, has come to rely on a traditional Haitian remedy for hunger pangs: cookies made of dried yellow dirt from the country's central plateau.

The mud has long been prized by pregnant women and children here as an antacid and source of calcium. But in places like Cite Soleil, the oceanside slum where Charlene shares a two-room house with her baby, five siblings and two unemployed parents, cookies made of dirt, salt and vegetable shortening have become a regular meal.

Kenya Conflict Update

The Conflict in Kenya continues to heat up, as of today the UN estimates that some 800 people are dead, The killings have more than doubled the amount of 320 in which I wrote about on January 12.

Former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Tuesday pleaded with Kenya's government to take "extraordinary measures" to protect civilians hours after an opposition lawmaker was killed outside his home in Nairobi.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice spoke of her concern about Kenya’s violence, saying she plans to speak with Annan soon about possible solutions.

"There needs to be a political resolution of this conflict, The election was not one that inspired confidence in the Kenyan people and, therefore, there needs to be a political arrangement, a political solution between the major opposition candidate and the president."

Our fingers are crossed to that this violence ends as soon as possible.

The Lies That Led To War

Photobucket

According to a study released Tuesday by two nonprofit journalism groups, President
George W. Bush and his top aides publicly made 935 false statements about security risk posed by Iraq in the two years following September 11, 2001.

The study also states that Bush made 232 false statements about Iraq’s former leader Saddam Hussein’s possessing weapons of mass destruction, and 28 false statements about Iraq’s link to al Qaeda.

"In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003,"

The information states that Bush and seven top officials - including Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of State Colin Powell and then National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice - made the 935 false statements.

On Wednesday, White House spokesmen Scott Stanzel responded to the study but did not speak directly to the “false claims”.

"'Heatho,' 'Beef,' . . . my beautiful boy, so loving, so talented, so independent, so caring, so young . . . no more chess games mate . . . this is it, couldn't beat you anyway!

My body aches for the sound of your voice, our chats, our laughs and our life and times together."

Your truly varied artistic skills, insatiable desire to improve and eclectic abilities set you apart from any other person on the planet . . . it had only just started for you … and for us to further enjoy. We were one, in soul and commitment. Just . . . Father and Son. I will love you forever, Dad."

His mother, Sally, wrote:
"Our darling boy, special in so many ways to all of us. You knew you were so loved. You lived life with courage and daring and we are so grateful for the wonderful times we shared. We will be there for Matilda. Your loving Mamma, Rog and Ash."

His older sister, Katie, wrote:
"I can hardly breathe when I try to write this. We were the ultimate in soul mates. I feel both my heart and life have been torn apart. I loved our special talks, our daily chats from where ever you were in the world.

I especially loved all the precious time we spent together. We were so fortunate to have you as long as we did. You were so many things to so many people, but to me you were just my little brother.

There will never, ever be another "Heath" and I think that in itself is the greatest tragedy.

I will continue to talk with you everyday and love you just as if you were here. You will never leave my thoughts "Roast", ever."

His younger sister, Olivia, wrote:
"You're my idol, my hero, but most importantly, my loving big brother. I'll treasure every moment we spent together. I love you Heath, I miss you and pray every night you're safe."

His entire family wrote:
"How do we describe our sudden and tragic loss? … You were the most amazing individual "old soul" in a young man's body.

You so loved us, as we dearly loved you. As a close knit and very private family unit we have observed you so determined yet quietly travelling in your self-styled path in life, nothing would get in your way … no mountain too tall, no river too wide.

You dreamed your dreams and lived them with passion and intelligent commitment. We have been privileged to accompany you on a ride through life that has simply been amazing and through it all, we have loved each other beyond imagination.

Your true legacy lives on in beautiful little Matilda, who will always remain in the greatest of care. Our hearts are broken . . . Dad and Ines, Mum and Roger, Kate and Nathan, Rori and Scarlett, Ashleigh, Olivia, Elana and Nadia."

Church to Picket at Ledgers Funeral

Photobucket

The "Reverend" Fred Phelps's Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to protest at the funeral of Heath Ledger.

Why?

The "God Hates Fags" hatemongers will picket the deceased Aussie actor's funeral because "he is a pervert who promoted homosexuality by appearing as a gay man in Brokeback Mountain."

Pervert? That is almost laughable. They have no room to talk - How are the kids?

I will say it again, God is a concept by which we measure our pain.

It's sad that people are so obsessed with something that is as fictitious as "God" that they would do something so ridiculous.

Or are they so unsure of their own sexuality that they can't watch a movie in fear of becoming homosexual?

The church sure does judge a lot as well, Doesn't the bible say that judging people is a sin?

Thought so.

"Judge not before you Judge yourself, Judge not before you are ready for Judgement."

In other Heath Ledger news: The autopsy is being performed today, They have to wait (usually 3 weeks) for the toxicology reports to come back to determine the cause of death.

I will be posting more on Heaths untimely death soon.

Thanks,

-Zak

R.I.P. - Heath Ledger

New York City, At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, police said.

The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious.

They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found sleeping pills near the body.

An autopsy is being performed tomorrow.

Heath had a 2 year old daughter, Matilda.

They're at it again

I hope everyone got to see last nights heated democratic debate.

So good!

Billary and Oprama got into a few arguments while John Edwards sat back wishing people cared about him.

Sen. Obama had one of the funniest answers when asked about Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison's comment that President Bill Clinton -- Sen. Clinton's husband who, as president, was hugely popular with black voters -- was America's "first black president."he responded very professionally saying:

"I would have to investigate more of Bill's dancing ability and some of this other stuff before I accurately judged whether he was, in fact, a brother."

It's nice that they have a sense of humor and aren't just robots.

It was not all fun and games though, Sen. Obama also stated that he felt that he was campaigning against both Clintons. What about the power that is Oprah! After such an amazing response to the above question why would he trump it with such a hypocritical statement like that.

But the most important question of the night was about our slipping economy - CLICK HERE to hear the responses.

Cpl. Cesar Laurean speaks with attonery then vanishes

Photobucket

Cpl. Cesar Laurean, The United States Marine accused of beating to death and burning a pregnant Corps co-worker (Cpl. Maria Lauterbach *pictured above*) talked with an attorney the day before he vanished, a police affidavit shows. According to this document, Cpl. Laurean and his wife, Christina, met with an attorney in Jacksonville, North Carolina, on January 9. The lawyer told Laurean he could face the death penalty.

Authorities suspect that Cpl. Laurean has fled the country to Mexico where he has family and a dual citizenship. What more proof do we need! It’s so obvious. He did it.

Thanks for reading,
