Never Again

Not one day goes by that I don't think of why our Government is not in the Darfur region of Sudan trying to end the genocide. I don't believe we will ever really know the truth but, I have hope. I also have my own opinion as to why we are not helping these innocent people.

Sudan is one of the poorest countries in the world, and would not likely be able to fund this genocide on its own - So they turn to their considerable oil supply (Sudan has one of the largest oil reserves in the world). They call on China to pump and distribute the oil. In which over 75% of the profit goes to the Sudanese Government-backed militia the "Janjaweed" meaning "Devil on horseback"

Simply put, There's nothing in it for us...

...If we were to go into Sudan their Government would without a doubt call on China - China in turn would threaten us. As we already know that would be an un-winnable battle, Like bringing a knife to a gun fight. - But thats just what I think.

-We all know what happened in Nazi Germany; 6 million innocent people were killed, We said Never Again.
-In 1994, 800,000 innocent people were killed from the genocide in Rwanda, We said Never Again.
-In 1999, over 200,000 innocent people were killed in Sierra Leone over the conflict diamond trade (or Blood Diamonds), We said Never Again.
-And in 2004 the U.S. Government called the atrocities in Darfur, Genocide. 3 years later with 400,000 dead, 2.5 million people displaced, and 3 million people relying on food aid - The killing continues.

Here we have a chance to make things right and we continue to fall flat on our faces.

These people have no value for human life! I ask everyone that reads this if they treat life as a gift? Being on this planet is the greatest gift anyone could ever receive, We all have so many opportunities that we take for granted. I am a true believer that if you have a dream and you work hard enough at it that it will come true. I would also like to ask everyone to look at your running water, your beds, your houses, your food, your clean clothes, and even your toilets and realize that those are all gifts and Never Again take them for granted.

Think about it - Do something about it!

Thanks for reading,
